personally when i was young and did not want to get pregnant i would not trust condoms.
I would possibly trust condoms with spermicide or condoms and a diaphragm or condoms and a sponge or birth control pills....
to me condoms are to prevent disease

A condom alone is pretty good protection as long as he knows how to put it on, and changes it for another as soon as he ejaculates (if you two continue to have sex. If you would like extra protection, how about the pill?
The good thing about condoms, is that the protect you both against thing other than pregnancy (STDs).
Good Luck!

Condoms are never 100% preventative, but there are more things you can do to prevent pregnancy on top of using a condom.
1) Try lubricant or condoms with spermicide. Spermicide kills sperm in case there is a breach in the condom. Plus, lubricant makes losing your virginity easier and more comfortable. :)
2) Tell him to pull out before he cums. Many many many couples do this. You can always finish him by using oral.
3) Talk to your doctor about birth control.
4) If you are convinced that he didn't pull out in time, the morning after pill is always available over the counter.
