ok, im already a sophomore in high school. Every girl can go through the faze in her life where she may think she just doesn't fit in. I have never dated anyone in my life, and I do as well feel the pressure around me. It may seem as if everyone around u has that significant other, but u are not alone. believe me. Don't put yourself down for it, ur special someone will come when the time is right. You still have your whole life ahead of you. This is a time where u should be enjoying life, and have no stress or major responsibilities. hope everything works out :)

tennisstar88 agony auntThis question reminds me of that Drew Barrymore film "Never Been Kissed".

Let's see if I can think back that far, I was 14 or 15..Mine was to my first boyfriend in high school who just died weeks ago in car accident. So I would have to say mine was well worth it and pretty special. I agree with you, let it happen naturally..don't rush it. You'll get guys your age who can't kiss worth a darn, or guys who you choke on their tongue. Wait to do it with a special guy then it will be just like you see in the movies.

P.S. A rule of thumb, don't make out in public or in the hallways at school it's just gross.

of course it isnt! :) im agreeing with everyone else, wait til the time is right, and you will know when that is. My first kiss was when i was 17 and it was so special, it was definatley worth the wait and made it all the more special and romantic if its with someone you like/love. Dont let your friends pressure you, do you really want to waste a memorable experience coz your friends wanted you to?

Hope this helps :)

Hey there girl I am 14 as well and I just got my first kiss this year too. It's not to old and no you are not stupid and you are not doing anything wrong. That's how I was to I wanted my first kiss to be specail to and it was. Don't listen to your friends but don't complain about it to often. Just wait and find a specail guy or a guy friend you can trust date them for a while and when you both feel the time is right then go for it. Don't worry I've waited a while to and this year my first kiss was with tongue and I wasn't expecting it but it happened and I did it with a my boy friend who was also a three year guy friend. If I were you I would wait and make it specail find someone you can totally trust and go for it but to be safe date first and make sure he is the guy he appears to be first..Good luck babe:] I have faith in you!!

i was 16 or 17 and my friends were all hooking up, and so my one friend pushed me into having my first kiss.. i regretted it so much!! i wanted it to be special and with someone who meant something to me, and now im stuck having the memory of some guy who i didnt even know or llike...

im now 21 and have started dating someone.. kissing is not what it looks like in the movies- its a lot wetter and different.. now i feel more able to enjoy it because its with someone i can care about... hold onto your kiss, dont feel the pressure to give in

A female reader, followtheblackrabbit Cayman Islands +, writes (16 November 2010):

followtheblackrabbit agony auntHon, you're not silly at all! In due time, you'll get that kiss and it should be someone special. I'm friends with a lot of boys and some of them, if they see a girl they kissed randomly before, they'll point her out and say something like, "Oh man! There's the girl who almost bit off my tongue!" Or "Ugh, she still needs mouthwash." They're good guys but do have idiot moments, I notice they don't say things like that about the special girls in their lives :) Love is respect. Your friends are their own people, let them do what they feel is best. In your heart, you know you want a special boy for a special kiss-what's wrong with that? Nothing. This is about you, what you want. Don't let them pressure you into that. I can't tell you how much I regret my first kiss, I was pressured into it and have no good memory of it-wish I did. Wait, hon. Good things are worth waiting for :) Just try and focus on other things, get so busy that when that special boy and special kiss come, it will be a sweet, pleasant surprise

A female reader, Lexie88 Australia +, writes (15 November 2010):

Lexie88 agony auntI think that 14 is TOO YOUNG to start kissing, using tongues, etc. If you start so young with kissing, next thing you know you'll be asking if 15 is too old to start having sex for the first time.

Hold up! You should be enjoying your time as a 14 year old, hanging out with your friends, pursuing your hobbies and interests and concentrating on school. You have many years ahead of you for boys...don't worry, they won't go anywhere.

I think you're on the right track when you say that you don't want to kiss just any guy but want it to be special. Don't change your views and don't listen to your friends. Many girls who just kiss any guy for the sake of having kissed someone, often end up doing more things with guys just because their friends pressure them into it. Don't do that, stick to your beliefs. You'll be much better off!

I had my first real kiss when I was 19...nothing wrong with that and I'm happy that I didn't go around kissing just anyone.

I hope you don't take my answer as advice not to kiss anyone. If you find someone special and you want to kiss them, go ahead. But always only do what you want and feel comfortable doing, never do things because your friends have done it. Having said that I still think that 14 is a bit young to start these things.
