writes: Questions about birth control!I've been on my birth control (Loestrin 24 FE) for over a year now. I've taken it everyday, same time. Lately however, I'm feeling some very awkward side effects. I no longer have ANY libido which makes my fiance believe I'm no longer sexually attracted to him. I have these crazy mood swings, get upset really easily, and in general I just don't feel like myself. Me and my SO have been arguing a lot lately, and only on times near my period on the placebo pills do I feel alright. I don't want to have to go back to condoms, but I don't feel I can go another month of this insanity. Does anyone have any expeirence with this? :(

I can totally sympathise with you about this! I had the same kind of reaction to the pill, altho it made me suicidal and depressed. To the point where I became disinterested in life and didnt know where to turn.
In the end my boyfriend left me, because I had become a shadow of my old perky happy self. I turned into a bitter, depressed and intoverted soul. I have never felt so helpless or scared in my entire life. It was like I was living in a bubble and could see out into the world, but I wasnt part of the world. I was caged and stuck in a limbo. I felt I was going mad and my mental state was all over the place. I was petrified.
Needless to say, I stopped taking the pill, and it took me over a year before I felt more normal and stable. I have been single ever since, but I am petrified of going back on the pill because of how it made me feel.
Go to the Doctors , get them to swap you to a different brand. YOU are important and your mental health is suffering because of the hormones. Do not wait, because the longer it goes on the worse it could get.
Do not wait and please do not panic. You are not going insane, just suffering from the effects of the pill. Talk to your doctor, tell them what you are feeling, and they will be able to help you.
HUGS xx

Have you recently started on any other medication. It may be an interference issue. There is also the possiblity that your body has developed this effect because of the birth control. The problem with synthetic estrogen is it works better in the body then the natural compound and because there are so many diiferent variations peoples bodies react differently to them which is capable of happening years down the road due to some shift in your own chemistry.
You should go see your doctor and it may be a good idea to see about taking a different brand of pill as they are not all the same.
