So many people only do it to accompany a friend that half the people you may meet aren't actually there with any intention of meeting someone. They are there purely for a laugh.
I can think of better things to do with £30/$30 for a night than spnd 5 minutes with 10 different people, most of whom aren't genuinely there.
Having said that, if you still think that's not an issue, then go for it - but only if your ego would be able to cope with learning at the end of the evening that NONE of the 10 people you 'met' want to contact you again.

I have never done it before but from what I know about it, it would be very difficult to actually meet anyone while doing it because of the short time period. I think that it would be alot of fun but not an effective way to meet a possible partner.
If I went with a friend I definitely think I would consider trying it but not expecting anything. Unless you give everyone your number nothing bad can really happen.
