A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

so theres this girl i really like but see the problem is that we've been extremely close friends for over a year now and i'm starting to fall for her a lot just recently and idk what to do now cuz we also just signed a house on campus yesterday for the next 2 years so we (me her and 3 other girls and one other guy) can all live together so that really complicates things even more but i mean we joke around about us dating and stuff and we flirt around and i jsut dont know if i should tell her you know cuz i dont want to ruin what we have but i dont want to regret anything either...if I should tell her should i first talk to a very close mutual friend about this first or just tell her directly?

A male reader, RON_499 Japan +, writes (8 November 2008):

RON_499 agony aunti think that you should just tell her.love is a complicated thing and if you keep it bottled up you're going to explode sooner or later.plus if she is the girl for you then i don't think that you should miss the chance and then regret it for the rest of your life.if she doesn't feel the same way then too bad just try to behave with her like you normally do and it may take some time but she'll go back to how she was.but when you tell her tell her everything okay don't leave out anything and later think that maybe she would've said yes if i said this.not that she won't say yes now.have faith in yourself and be there for her all the way okay.best of luck to you......

Mod Note: 'You' is spelt y-o-u. I've edited your answer to reflect that - this time.
