I am a domestic worker in a care home . its the cleaning i dont like , sometimes i enjoy it for like an hour then i hate it . ive been offered an interview for a domestic worker , working with young people . in some ways i want to go for this incase i enjoy it more but at the same time considering i dont like cleaning will i enjoy it . its less hours . sometimes i think its good to take risks and if i got the job i may enjoy it more , i may prefer the cleaning and the fact im working with young people as opposed to eldery ? should i go for the interview or wait until i actually find something i enjoy ? i still do not know what i want to do . i try my hardest to find something but find it hard . at the moment ive been looking at volunteering roles and potential areas of work that interest me which are admin roles , helping people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness finding property and childcare, so all different. i have been to visit the place that offers this type of volunteering role in regards to helping people who need support with finding somewhere to live .it is something that defiantly interests me but the only downside is that its 2 buses to get there , although i will get my travel reimbursed and there was another role that it is easier to get to and i prefer the environment and i have met all the staff etc , but most of the volunteering places ive looked at are not taking on volunteers at the moments due to the situation ? should i start at the place ive been to and see how it goes as it did appeal to me? or wait until the other place allows volunteers ? You appear to be interested in helping others, lots of ways to do this but one that is certainly worth thinking about in the future. If you feel cut out for this work.
Have you considered Nursing? as we all know, nurses are in high demand and recruiting still low.
A lot of staff start by doing domestic work the patients enjoy the company of domestic staff who bring cups of tea and chat with them and have a giggle) this is ok money and plenty of hours. yes! lots of cleaning but that is normal in a hospital and often involves nurses as well.
There are lots of different avenues into this profession or (calling). You can work your way up by becoming a nursing assistant HCA, or Auxiliary, you get plenty of training opportunities and gain so much hands on experience in nursing should you decide that you want to take it further. There are roles as nursing associates, training in clinical skills, then you are well on your way to been a trained and qualified nurse, that has actually worked with patients throughout.
Or you could do a nursing degree formally at University but you will still be required to work in clinical areas (unpaid) before qualifying you would also have to work as a health care assistant (HCA) not to posh to wash training. This is so important in nursing, experiencing the real life of patients who are poorly, sick, dying or dead, a text book does not give you the experience you need to become a true nurse who cares about the patients.
So paid hands on route and you have to do all the nursing, washing patients, cleaning bottoms, emptying vomit and commodes etc and cleaning beds, mopping up blood, feeding, helping palliative patients pass over with dignity, care for the visiting families, chasing the frail elderly patients with dementia . Cleaning is a big part of CARE work and is endless. It's not WHAT you do but HOW you do, what you do, that counts.
Why volunteer, do it for a living, you have to take care of you aswell.

Cleaning for young people or old people makes no difference in the ACTUAL job which is cleaning. And it's CLEANING you don't like so really? what would change? Other than scenery?
Stick it out a bit longer while you look for other options, other jobs to try out. You are still young and not every one know from the get go WHAT they want to do when they are "grown ups" (so to speak).
Yes, it's nice to have a job that you can enjoy. I get that, but at the end of the day, you HAVE a job, you HAVE a paycheck.
Maybe consider taking some online classes in the kind of admin you are interested in? While keeping your job?
