When I was younger I tried anal (first with a small toy) and that did not go well at all...oww...Nevertheless, it's something I've always been interested in and I'm hoping that, like vaginal sex, my body can get used to things this time around and I might have the opportunity to actually enjoy it with some practice. That said, I don't care how many showers he takes; there's no way in hell I'm going to let my partner, assuming we get there like we both want to, go from the back door to my mouth or the front door. Noooo way...even if he uses a whole bottle of soap. I guess it's just one of the few things that does just sound outright nasty. So, no condom=no anal in my book. Period. Is this a typical request from women who engage in anal sex? Thoughts?

Use lost of lube... use a few condoms... and go slowly
and anal sex and vaginal sex with the same condom is a no no.
i suggest taking a shower... trying anal... jump back in the shower... then finish up if that's the route you're going.

The condom makes his penis slicker and smoother. If after he's been in your backside he wants to finish somewhere else (unlikely!) he can pull off the condom and do so.
Anal sex can be a great part of your sex life, and you're body can easily learn to accept a penis and enjoy serious G-spot orgasms from it!

I've always wondered why a man would want fecal bacteria pushed up into his urethra during anal sex in the first place. Or jammed under his foreskin. Seems like a very bad idea to me, for his own health. Definitely use a condom!

Oh yeah. Definitely use a condom! An STD can be spread just as easily through the "back door" as through anywhere else! Also, less likely but it's still a risk, any semen that might leak out from the back door and make its way into the front door, so there is a very slight risk of pregnancy too with all those fluids running around in there in the heat of the moment.
On another note, if you're going to try anal, use TONS of lubricant, both on you and on him. Go very slow and gently at first. Your back door needs to get used to the idea of entry and can behave like a leather glove that's slightly too small for your hand and needs breaking in.
If you go too fast with anal and don't use lots of lube, you run the risk of infection because of tearing of the perineum.
Good luck!

Personally I have no interest in anal sex whatsoever but I understand it can be very errogenous. To each his own but it's definitely wise to use a condom, in my opinion.

That's not only typical, but highly advisable. So insisting on that is a very good idea, for many reasons.
