 Basically he doesnt mean anything by this. He has a new girlfriend and he has moved on - you should too.
My ex is similar but I have at least figured out what he is up to! My ex has been dating a variety of women since we split up 3 years ago but still likes to text me to see what I am up to and probe into my love life. I still love this guy more than anything in the world and every time he would text me I would get excited thinking he was still interested but when I finally asked him; he said there was no chance for us to ever get back together but he still wanted to be in my life because he cares about me and cant imagine me not being in his life in some way.
Now this is a load of rubbish, it basically means he likes keeping me hanging on after him because it makes him feel good. Dont let yourself fall into the same trap - I would suggest you cut off all contact with him and tell him you dont want to hear from him anymore. The only way you can move on is if you forget about him and stop speaking to him - if you are anything like me every time you speak to him your spirits lift a little and you start to dream again about being back together. This is a horrible way to live as you never actually can move on - this is why 3 years later I'm still in love with the idiot!
Be stronger than I am and cut him out of your life, move on and forget all about him. If you can change your mobile number then do it, so he can never text you again. Change your email address, delete him off facebook etc. Just cut off all forms of contact and then eventually you will start to feel better.
