A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My problem... I keep dreaming of my ex-boyfriend. I've been married for 3 years and have a child with my husband. I love my husband very much and I always have. I dated my husband before I dated the ex that I am dreaming of. My ex and I dated for 3 years and it was a great relationship. The relationship ended because I pushed him away afer I got mixed up with the wrong crowd. I never stopped loving him, but I felt that had to push him away. Shortly after we broke up, I straightened my life up. After that, I ran into my ex (now husband) and we picked back up.

I dated him for only a few months and he proposed and I accepted. I am so confused because I love them both and they are both good men. My ex is currently single but I don't even know that we would get back together if I were to leave my husband. I haven't spoken to my ex in over 3 years either. I have no plans on leaving my husband. Like I said, I love him, that's why I married him. We have a child together. But, I also have strong feelings for my ex. I just don't know why I am dreaming of my ex every single night!!! I don't know what to do.

roadman agony auntWell the other simple thing to do,is do nothing..if you have no plans to leave your hubby for what ever reason your with him, then forget the other guy completey, and just ride out the love for the other with in you..

As I don't think your hubby will be to pleased to know your feelings for the other guy,and if he's not an open minded guy there not much chance he'll let you spend time with your ex on the grounds you need to fuel your desires and dreams, but if it were me,then I'd have to chase my dreams and get in touch with the other guy,as life is about what you want and pleasing yourself as you not aware of who your hubby dreaming about..

If your husband not down with it then thats something he'll have to deal with, but if dreams are kicking in every night, then you and this ex have something deeper than you and your husband or it could also mean you and the ex have unfinished business, but I'd get in touch with the ex if you don't mind makign a bit of drama and things complex.

Sounds to me that you and the ex might be wanting a bit of the old magic you once had,i'd give him a call and see whats on offer or if you don't want to rock the boat then just dream about it,but you know what your not going to have it all your own way!!

roadman agony auntWell I believe you should chase your dreams,if your dreaming of your ex and your ex is your true love, then you should get back together..

There no point in being with someone you don't deeply love just for the sake of it,if your true happiness is to be with someone else, there a fine line between love and care,or just getting along with someone becasue you've lost the one you really love..

I also believe that if you continue to dream an ex then they themself are trying to reach out to you and may be unhappy with out you and in the same boat as you, with someone they don't really wish to be with..

In past love when things have gone wrong for me,I've had a strong number of dreams about the person in question,in most cases the ex partner returned..The key I feel is you have to let the ex know if they still feel the same way,as you the door open for a return, even if it means hurting the person your with..

I don't believe it's fair to be with someone on the rebound from your true love.I agree true love never dies and you can love more than one person and find it hard to decide what to do to proctect people feelings, but question is do you protect your own,,

I've found that these kind of dreams show that something is not right in the other persons life and somewhere in there soul they are crying out for you,and for you to see them your also crying out for them..and what you both had is not over, but for what ever reason your both apart..

i dream of my ex monthly..the dreams always leave me reeling as i then can not stop thinking of him for at least a week after that. I to made many mistakes and broke his heart..if i had behaved im sure that we would have stayed together and got married, but that isnt he way that it happend and i married a WONDERFUL man whom i love and adore. I have decided personally to seek counseling for my issue. I dont share my dreams with my hubby as i dont feel that he needs to think that i long to be with my ex. My ex has a lovely girlfriend and i wish them nothing but happiness and i havent spoken to him in years. I hope that you too can find someone to talk to that will help you sort out your emotional dilema. I know how hard it is on you. Best of luck

I totally relate to this, and it makes me feel soooo much better to knwo i am not alone. I too messed up, let myself get lost, strayed, and then forced myself to divorce me ex because in the ned i felt so much damge was done it was un doable, and i had nothing to give in order to fix it...in the end, i cleared my head and realized all i gave up but, i had also gained a great guy of which i am now with and struggling to feel the way i once felt for my ex, for him. NOT EASY, but I do love him. Just realizing I may never feel that again...or at this point in time. it takes time...but I do dream about my ex and I getting back together. At first i woke confused and very un easy. but after having these dreams a week straight, i find that i am waking up and realizing the reality...it is over, and i have to let go and move on.
