A female United States age , anonymous writes:

I want so badly to hold things together with my boyfriend. Things HAVE been well lately, in fact, except that he's been having a terrible time at work and I'm starting to feel a bit psychologically bludgeoned as he goes on and on about all the things wrong about it: I totally sympathize with his work situation as some of the people, his boss, for example are really horrible to him, really unkind people who don't follow up on what they promise, which drives him crazy because he is trying to create something beautiful there and they thwart him at every turn! But I am getting headaches from listening to his venting. He is normally a gentle person.

What can I do? Please help!!!

Get a kitchen timer and when he gets home tell him he can have 5 minutes to vent about work and then he is not allowed to mention it for the rest of the night.

It'll do him good to think about other things too.

Good Luck!! xx
