I'm so used to fighting my paranoia that I can't make head or tail of the situation

A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I've been dating this girl for about 8 months now. Originally I rebounded from a previous relationship to her, but it couldn't have been a better person to find. We were friends before hand, but here's where things get tricky. She's, more or less, a lesbian.

I am quite attracted to her; however, she says she thinks I'm handsome, but I'm not physically attractive to her. I love her with all my heart and believe she feels the same about me.

I don't know what to do right now; I feel like I'm about to lose her because of that lack of attraction. I'm so used to fighting my paranoia that I can't make head or tail of the situation. Am I just going to get hurt?

SoftlyCaress agony auntI agree with Erin if you dont have the right plumbing you might have all your going to get and that is a good friend .You can love someone and not have anything sexual but as for a relationship if you feel as she is gay then you might want to just sit down and ask yourself and her how far you all think this is going to go.

and if you arent physically attracted to her it might cause a problem down the road when you find a girl that you are physically attracted to and then it could be ugly for your friend . I know you wouldn't want to hurt someone you claim you have so much feelings for so do both of you a favor find out .....

ErinPatterson agony auntSorry to say but if ya dont have the right "plumbing" it may be a no go..no sorry thats not funny but..I mean if she likes girls..ya may be just a good friend to her.

That stinks because I have liked men that later I found out where gay. I bartended for years and a few guys I thought where cute where very gay..it stinks but think about it sooner or later your going to want to have relations and well..obviously she is not wanting a guy..
