A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *ul1993 writes:

Hi all.

Im having some issues. Im really scared of my womb or my ovaries being damaged or getting cysts or cancer. All i want in life is to become a mother and have a happy family with my boyfriend. But im so scared that im not going to be able to or my ovaries contract cysts. I often get cysts under my arms or Inbetween my legs and i believe them to be harmless. I dont have a history of cancer or cysts on the ovary but i am a natural worrier. I think because of this massive fear i have im developing phantom pain? if thats at all possible. I often get pain in my lower abdomen the other month i bled for a day a few days before my actual period came and now my thighs have started hurting but im not sure if this is because ive sat weirdly. Im associating every little pain or illness i have with the wellbeing of my womb or ovaries and its really upsetting me. I dont see a life without a family. What do i do??

CindyCares agony aunt I'd start worrying about first things first :

if you get cysts so often, you should see a dermatologist, it may be absolutely nothing, or it may be something, ... but how would you know if you don't ask a doctor ?

Same, and more, goes for any sudden variation of your cycle / recurring pain in your pelvic area. Spotting between periods may be absolutely nothing, or a symptom of serious conditions .

If you are so into your reproductive health, you should take good care of your general health first .

Pardon the brutality but.... how are you going to have children 10 years from now if you are not alive ?

C. Grant agony auntYou live in the U.K., so you have access to the NHS. A thorough physical examination will cost you nothing, and will put your mind at ease. Have yourself examined by a qualified physician.
