writes:Hi, i just recently got my first ever boyfriend and we really like eachother its just my friends arent that supportive. as he lives quite far away from me we cant really go out places together but we can still meet up in school. he asked me out in the holidays so he hasnt ever hanged out with my friends and i havent hanged out with his. my problem is when i first told my friends they all laughed because he is quite a bit smaller than me and some of them think he's ugly (which i dont think). so if he ever wants to be with me my friends are going to be there too and im scared they'll make fun of me/him or give him the 'if you break her heart, you die' talk which will totaly freak him out. what should i tell my friends/ him? when they actually meet him i doubt they will say nything to him anyway, maybe they're just saying it because they're jealous? they should be happy for you, and glad that you've found someone who makes you happy!
i'm sure everything will run smoothly though - my friend had this problem and now her boyfriend comes out with us all the time!
they need to grow up. you have found someone who makes you happy not caring what he looks like.

If they knew how much he ment to you and realised that they were upsetting you with there comments then maybe they might change their thoughts. Plus it kind of shows you who your real friends are. I think you should go for it with your boyfriend, i mean he is your first one so if you make a msitake or whatever it dosnt matter there are plenty more times to come! When i used to fancy a certain lad I always used to think in my head ''wel if i went out with him what would people say'' but now im not bothered whatever they say isnt going to stop me liking them. So go for it and good luck! also tell your bf about this maybe he can have a few suggestions or if you would rather not then dnt just take the advice :)
