natasia agony auntThe flutters are the baby's little hands moving.

Well, it depends what you mean by flutters, but I got that all the time in later pregnancy twice, and it was the baby's hands. The hands are quite big now, and moving a lot!

Only advice can be go and let the doctor check how things are going. It's always good to be checked.

The back ache, etc, is what you get in the last 6 weeks. You feel heavier and heavier. You can't walk up stairs - go up one or two and need to pause for breath. You are generally quite short on breath. You have to do everything slowly. And generally you get quite a lot of noticeable lower back ache.

Good luck!

ps also, just before labour starts, you might get an ache a bit like period pain, then when you start getting contractions, they are very definite strong squeezes of the muscles around your lower abdomen - not flutters of any kind ...
