My ex broke up with me 4 months ago and like I'm dating and I'm confident but I still find myself thinking about what it would be like to be with him. I don't understand.

A male reader, anoms United Kingdom +, writes (17 February 2009):

anoms agony aunti hear this alot but its mostly down to those strong emotional ties you build up over time with trust and understanding, with a sudden break up its difficult to open up to a new partner so quickly, over time it will certanly pass as you start to appreciate the things your new/future partners have to offer, gudluk.

if he is your first, the reality is you will think of him forever! if he isn't your first then you just need to find a better boyfriend to replace all that mush left in your head. of course, in a perfect world, if you can be happy alone everyone else is just extra! Enjoy the extra! Like ketchup!
