 If you dont feel appreciated or loved and are miserable always thinking that he loves someone else are you sure you want to be in this relationship ? Is there a reason that you think he loves one of his long term friends ? Maybe you need to talk to him, ask him how he feels, tell him your concerns, and explain why you think this. If you dont speak to him you will only be thinking all this anyway, if it turns out to be true then you know you can move on. Find out he wasnt worth it and invest sometime insome who is. But unless you talk to him your not going to know anything, hes not going to automatically know there is a problem and the present thing could just be the way he is, doesnt feel that he needs to... you dont say how long you have been together, so that sort of thing might come in time, have a little chat and see how things pan out.

 What makes you think that your boyfriend is in love with his long time friend?...Have you seen them together? When you say to your boyfriend "i love you"...does he say it back?..Have you asked him out right whether he still wants to be with you?...communication is so important in a relationship and its so easy to take the other half for granted.Boredom can change people's feelings...do you spend quality time together?...If you feel your not getting anything out of this relationship then maybe your better off elsewhere.

Ask him about this.Tell him what you feel and demand a straight answer from him wheter he is in love with his friend or not.
