I never found the girl on top position to be all that great. I constantly hear how satisfying it feels for women, but I never get much out of it. Could I be doing it wrong?

CinnamonSpice agony auntHey there, I wouldn't worry too much about 'not doing it right' - there is no rights or wrongs with sex, it's just about finding a position that suits you both and one that you both enjoy!! I would suggest trying numerous different positions and discovering which ones feel the best for you.

Usually when I have sex I am on top almost every time and I really enjoy it although we have started experimenting a lot more recently & trying different ways to enjoy ourselves in bed - it's been a lot of fun & adds a bit of spice to our bedroom sex life after 3 yrs together & after just having a baby boy 5 mths ago!!

Enjoy sex - that's what its all about!! Have fun & relax and the 'right' position will present itself to you...

lexilou agony auntI was in my 30's before I enjoyed going on top, before that I couldnt achieve orgasm that way so always switched to a different position after ten mins or so. Try laying on top of your partner to get a bit more clitoral stimulation, its sometimes just takes time to teach your body different ways of gaining pleasure. Im still trying to get any satisfaction from doggy style!!!

lotus mama808 agony auntHey, girl, I've never liked being on top either, and I dont think I'm doing it wrong. I found a particular position where I am on top, turned to the side and bent down, with my knees down, if you can picture that-lol. I'm more or less particular about my potions. I did learn during a pap(ugh), however that my cervix kinda point downward when I lay down. I was told it wasnt uncommon, but it will definetly define what positions I prefer.

I used to feel the same way until a couple of months ago. I'm not sure what advice to give you, but I'll tell you what feels good for me when I'm on top and you could possibly give it a try.

For me, it always feels better when my guy thrusts along with me, so it's not only me, but him too.

Another thing I started doing, which I love, is sitting on top and leaning back. Then you just move your hips forwards and backwards. It feels great.

A female reader, Tremor Australia +, writes (15 May 2008):

Tremor agony auntI wouldn't fret about 'doing it wrong'- there's not a lot to get wrong.

It could just be that this particular position is not for you. Keep in mind that what feels good for one person may not do so for another - everyone has different preferences.

Experiment a little with your partner and I'm sure you will find something that works for you.
