A female United Kingdom age 51-59, anonymous writes:

Please help. Last year my husband left me. First I heard was by email from his lawyer as I was overseas at the time on a short break. To cut story short i came back he had taken most things. We had been married 20 years he has not spoken to me since. Over the last couple of months my hair has been coming out way more than normal and i am told it is stress. Has anyone else experienced this following a traumatic time? I am worried it wont grow back.

Yes your hair loss can be reversed once your stress lessens.

oldbag agony auntHi

Yes and it does grow back. See your doctor if you haven't already, have a chat and explain about your hair and the circumstances.

Also a trip to the hairdressers to have it restyled will can make it less obvious and you will feel better about yourself.

If you've lost weight as well then look at your diet too. It is a traumatic time and no doubt a shock, but you will come through it and realise you have a life to look forward to and new challenges, he is no great loss if he can treat you like that after 20 years together.
