A couple years ago, her engagement ring was stolen. I realize that she's really distressed, but I really don't appreciate my parents blaming my friends. I'm okay with her saying that she wants to rule out all possibilities and never let me have a friend over again, but I can't stand how my dad personally blames my best friend for more than half of my life. When i confront him, he only replies "(friend's name) is a bad person, i don't want you ever hanging out with him again. Stay away from him" I know it isn't him, so how can I ask my dad to trust my friend again?
