I'm losing him because of my anger issues

Question - (18 February 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 19 February 2011)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *ilish writes:

Me and my boyfriend have been together almost 6 months and I think the absolute world of him. Earlier today though, I lost all control and smacked him twice. He stormed out of my house after. I've had troubles with my temper since I was a little girl and my Mum is currently trying to arrange for me to see a doctor about it. I text him saying sorry and he was cool with it, he also told me he doesn't want to lose me and he loves me. But he's still being abit off. I don't want to lose him and I wish he would understand that it was just a moment of anger, and I'm going to get help to change because I don't want to lose him. Please help me :(

fishdish agony auntJust let him cool off for a little bit. It's probably particularly humiliating for a man to be hit by a woman. just let him know you're working on it; know that even if he and you are never the same, that this should be even more incentive that you work on this issue.
