Three months before it ended, I started becoming close friends with this boy and I only realized (after I became single) that I really like him... problem is, he broke my best friend's heart a year ago and she is not over him though she says she is. What do I do?

I would stay far far away from him. My friendships are more important then a guy. And... if he broke her heart, who's to say he really isn't a total douche and will do the same to you?

If he broke your best friends heart then keep well away from him. Friends are the best thing you can have and not worth losing (which you would) over a boy.
Get over to your best friends place with other mates, chocolate and ice-cream and plan your nights out, weekends away and holidays as single girls together....
