I don't know if this is the right place for this.. but....

I get threadworms at least twice a month, I tried taking the pills to stop them, but that involved telling my mum, who made a big deal about it.

Has anyone got any tips for me to stop keep getting them? And to get rid of them?

Thank you

im not sure if this will work but try eating lots and lots of carrots or a glass of carrot juice a day they are lethal to the pinworms and probably will kill them

I get the little buggers every 6 months or so. I am insulin diabetic and also have underactive thyroid. My doc has just told me, after 5 years, it is the diabetes that is causing the constant reinfection as they feast on the sugar. Does anyone think colonic irrigation would do the trick? I am 68 yrs old and very hygienic, but I feel these little beasts are doing an early job of grave digging!!

Killing the eggs is not down to you at all

My family are currently going through a case at the moment, we are a very clean family hands washed, bedding changed etc etc so it is not a personal hygiene case either unless of course you do not clean yourself in which case yes it would be.

I have a funny feeling that my daughter is the starter of this outbreak in our case she is 4 and goes to a school where you can tell there are a few un-hygienic people also attend, it can be spread from person to person maybe you are catching them off a close friend, through hand towels, bath towels, bedding etc, the eggs can be part of household dust also which means they can be breathed in.

You need tablets to fully get rid of the worms and then another tablet 14 days after the first to kill of the hatched eggs.

Hope this helped

b3x agony auntI have not heard much about them nor know anyone who suffers from them, but I do know what they are. To refresh my memory and get a lil bit more info on your situatuion I did a lil google'n!

I think you should check this out, it gives you plenty of info on what the threadworm is and its eggs etc. You say that you get them on a regular basis, but what I noticed about that link is they kinda emphasised on personal hygiene.

Make sure you shower regulary and change you bedding on a regular basis ( bedding should be washed at 60 degress ) If you make sure you keep clean you should find that they may fade out eventually. You tablets will kill the worm but not the eggs, thats down to you! I hope they clear up for you babe, they must bug you honey! xx
