YummyMummy agony auntDon't be nervous sweetie. This doesn't make you a social recluse or anything, or not normal. A lot of people suffer from depression and you doctor will be able to help you!

The first time I went to the doctors I didn't know what depression was and my doctor was really nice and explained a lot about it and put me on some tablets and told me to come back if I felt they weren't working.

Share your fears about the appointment with your mum as she sounds like a supportive mum and may help put your nerves at rest! xxxxxxx

I had a friend with depresion, after he split with his girlfriend of ten years. He did go to see a doctor and the doctor suggested he took up training instead of pills. It did him very well, as when you finish in the gym you tend to feel great. He also met new people and moved out of the depresion state he was in. Go and see the doctor he will know what suits you best.

Take care.

I have suffered with major depression, at one point i was on 80mg of ciprimil a day, at times i go months where i dont have a day that i think of suicide, people who dont suffer or never have dont understand its as simple as that. I haven't been on pills for a long time now as i try to deal with the cause of the depression, what is making me feel low?

The problem with doctors is that they are too quick too just give people tablets to treat symptoms i.e depression but surely its far better to treat the cause.

There is a difference between being clinically depressed and feeling low, do you have plenty of interests ? do you go out and socialise with friends alot? Its a known fact that exersise and social interaction are by far the best medicine for beating the blues, dont be one of the millions that tries to find a answer at the bottom of a pill bottle. get out and about, dont lay in bed feeling sorry for yourself, go running or take up a sport, boxing or any type of combat sport is excellent for self confidence and stress busting.

Seriously dont start taking those tablets, my past is a blur because of them, thay are brillint but you should only take them as a last resort.

please try the other options first.

If you are feeling that bad about your life i would really recommend seeing a councellor, i did and it really does help change the way you think about things.

Good Luck and i hope you feel better soon.

love-him agony auntHi babe, there is no reason to be nervous about going to the doctor, its a good way for getting help. the doctor will advise you on what to do in this matter, some give you medication and some work on techniques to make you better. i have been using a technique recently to help me sleep, i cant remember what it is called at the moment, but mail me and i will find out for you. for sleeping, try walking before going to bed, or exercise, that is a good way of helping. the reason i am feeling low, is because i was raped when i was 12, and it still gets to me, maybe you have something bad in your life? maybe you could see a councellor? mail me to talk x x x x x x

flower girl agony auntI am myself suffering with depression and believe me the hardest part is admitting to it, i am currently seeing my doctor on a regular basis and taking anti depressants to help me with this.

Ypu will be fine when you see the doctor and they will give you the help you need, i have been on the tablets now since October and they have reduced the dose and how frequently have have to take them now and i feel completly ok now back to how i was and thats with still going through the same problems now as i had when i started suffering with depression.

Make sure you get out alot with friends and family so you are not stuck in as it gives you too muchtime to think.

Take care if you want to talk feel free to mail me.

TELLULAH agony auntHi Darling,

That's a horrible thing to have to suffer. I used to suffer from depression, and was on all types of tablets. And I am not saying that they didnt help, but there not a long term fix.

I have a friend who gets severly depressed if the weather is bad and there is no sun for a few days. All they want to do is stay in bed and hide away. So lots can effect people in different ways.

To cure mine, I keep really busy all the time. I do swimming and dance classes, anything to stop myself from getting down.

See what the doctor says, but I would really recomend getting some kind of hobby and being in the fresh air, it helps me all the time.

Love and stuff XX
