My question is a bit strange but it is something that has been bothering me for a long time.

Ok, it all started bout 8 months ago, i fell out with my bitchy best mate. A few weeks later i started getting anonymous phone calls, the number would always be withheld and they would hang up when i'd say hello.

They became more frequent and then started at ridiculous times in the morning and at night. Then they started on my house phone at ridiculous times in the night. So i changed my mobile phone number and was very careful who i gave it to.

Now the calls have started again on my mobile but i don't hang up, i stay on the phone and listen.

Sometimes i hear a male's voice which sounds alot like my boyfriend's, and sometimes i hear a males voice that sounds like my ex best mate's.

I'm so confused what should i do?

xx Thanks

answer, say nothing and put the phone on mute. dont give them the satisfaction of knowing what you're doing from hearing background noise.

at night, turn your mobile onto silent and take the house phone off the hook. if it presists after this, you may need to go to the police.

I would totally agree with this answer. You don't and shouldn't have to live like this. There are places and people out there that can help with this situation. You could well be right about the people you suspect. I say trust your instincts. Could it be that you gave your number to someone you know and they have passed it on to someone thinking you would want them to know it but don't (if that makes any sense!!!)

I hope everything works out ok for you though and I'm sure if you follow those links that it will.

kikicupid agony auntUsually if i get anonymous calls, as in the number doesn't show on screen, or it says withheld, i don't pick up. If it's someone abroad they can leave a message and you will call back. if you keep picking up, whoever is doing it will keep doing it because apparently it's funny. so i suggest do not pick up and they will get bored soon enough. Maybe if this goes on, change your number again and give it to very few people...either way im sure you will be ok and don't be scared or worried, its probably harmless xxx
