writes:I'm 17 years old and I've been friends with my best friend for the past 4 years. I'm close to her and her entire family, they always call me their second daughter and i go on trips with them. I love being at their house and hanging out with the family. My best friend has a brother who is a year younger, we hang out and the last year or so my best friend falls asleep before i do so i always go hang out in her brothers room and we play video games or just watch tv, hes fun to hang out with. Anyways the last month or so i've started feeling like i like him, but i'm not sure if i just think of him as a little brother or if i really actually like him. I don't know if i'm trying not to like him because i'm afraid of what my friend my think. My friends (including my best friend) have started asking me if i like him and its getting weird....i'm so confused....what do you think??

reader, anonymous, writes (12 October 2008): Maybe your friends are getting at something. I mean to quote someone..not sure who, "When you love someone you can tell, when you're in love with someone everyone else can tell" I think you've got it bad. But you have to think about your best friend...its going to be awkward for her, she now has to share you with her brother. You really have to think about this before you do anything.
