Anonymous 123 agony auntThe good thing is that you realize you have a problem and you want to change. Iv battled an addiction with Coca Cola...and I know what its like. I almost never had water and lived on Coke and I had the worst migraines of my life. I started gaining weight which was really strange, because I had been slim all my life. Till I saw the problem myself, I never took it seriously, no matter what everyone around me said.

There's only one thing that you can and should do, and that is, COMPLETELY stop with the Mc Donalds obsession. Tell yourself that you will not have that crap anymore, because it is JUNK, just like aerated drinks are. Abella has made some wonderful points and described a very healthy and interesting variety of food that you can inculcate in your daily diet. It will keep you busy too and take your mind off your need for Mc Donalds.

Remember, only you can help yourself. If you are strong and you have the will power, you will stop it. Tell yourself that you are only harming yourself and no one else. You will gain weight even before you realize and bloat up like a balloon and be obese and do you know what's going to happen then? To get over your lack of confidence and your feelings of loneliness, you will end up eating even more and you will depend on your comfort food to give you a high. This is such a vicious circle.

you need to rent the movie "supersize me" I believe is the title. it is a movie about this guy who decides to eat McDonalds everyday, for 30 days. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Before this guy does this experiment(for the 30 days) he goes to his Dr. for a check-up. When the experiment is over, he gets a check-up again. My 2 kids, ages 11 and 8, watched this movie too. They think twice now about eating McDonalds. You should really check it out. Good Luck!

chigirl agony auntLook into how they make their food and what it consists of, and check your weight. Should give you reasons enough to stay away and never eat it again.

McDonalds ins't quality food, plain and simple, and it will make you fat with the high fat containt. It's unhealty to eat it, actually, as you do not get the proper nutriants your body needs. Educate yourself on nutriants your body needs and how to eat healthy, and you will see for yourself why you need to stop.

Also think of your economy. It is expensive to constantly order out.

Keep food in your fridge at home, so that when you get a craving, or get hungry, you will have food available! And ONLY eat the food you have at home. It's time to go grocery shopping in other words.

I have friends with the same problem. So they made a bet with each other that they could go 1 month without any takeaways except Subway and healthier options. Whoever lost had to pay $50 to the other I believe, but you can come up with your own. Try the healthy options at McD's to wean yourself off too if you think it would be easier than going cold turkey. Good luck!

Abella agony auntpost script

Also learn to make some really great soups. The following is a favorite at home:

Saute 1 diced brown onion, half sliced leek, 2 stems of diced celery, diced dessertspoon of bell pepper / capsicum.

Add in a liquid cup of beef stock or consome (do NOT use those salty cubes) Now add in 5 chopped fresh tomato

2 grated carrots, teaspoon diced fresh oregano, half cup of finely diced fresh parsley.

Later add in 2 cups roughly diced pumpkin, a tin of undiluted Tomato soup,

4 diced fresh mushrooms and top up with water and simmer slowly, stiring multiple times. do not leave it and forget it or it will burn. Add salt and pepper to taste - it may need no salt due to earlier ingredients.

Cook until you cannot readily discern what vegetable is what. The pumpkin should have disappeared into the soup.

This soup really works!

You will have soup for you and all your

friends for a whole week.

Do not add potato to the above soup as without the potato the above soup will freeze well.

Happy Soup cooking. Serve the soup with a nice slice of crusty bread.

Abella agony auntfirst of all can you share the love? And try Subway? Or pizza?

But truly it can work out expensive, and Boring, if you never vary what you eat.

And learning to cook at home can save you heaps on money.

Plus cooking at home is fun.

Cooking at home can teach you so much.

And your friends will love coming over for a visit.

You can go on line to find so many recipes.

Or maybe get a recipe book and try making your own curry, your own bolognese sauce?

Even decide to have one night a week at home that is 'International Night'

With a different country's food one night a week.

1:Italian: make your own bolognese sauce the first night. (Save some of the sauce and freeze it) it can even be a vegetarian bolognese if flavorsome enough.

Cook some Pasta and serve the sauce

over the top. Grate FRESH parmesan

cheese over the top (not the yuk packet stuff)

2. Indian Curry: Make your first chicken curry. Cook the rice (save some of the rice and freeze it)

3. Greek night: get some frozen fillo pastry

Make triangles of fetta cheese, walnuts, well sauted onions, spinach. Bake in oven

4. Mexican night: unfreeze that bolognese sauce, add taco seasoning,

Assemble the tacos.

5. Spanish night: make Paella. Make use of the frozen rice and add chicken and other vegetables (i know seafood is traditional - but mine will not eat same

6. All American Meat Loaf - easy to make - and packed with Flavor. And tastes great even when cold - served as a slice with ketchup.

7. Chinese stir fry. Get one chicken breast. One pack of chinese vegetables. One onion. Some concentrated liquid chicken stock. Soy sauce. Some cashews. Saute the onions, add the chicken as thin slices, add the soy sauce.

Then add the uncooked chinese vegetables, add stock. Wilt the vegetables. Toss in cashews at the end.

Pretty soon you are going to want to write your own cookbook :-)

Best wishes with this,

Abella
