reader, anonymous, writes (7 November 2007): You're probably fine. Some women just have irregular cycles and may go 2-3 months. Start circling the first day of your period on your calendar, so that you can see what's normal for you.
Also, stress can delay your period, not getting enough to eat can delay your period, any number of things. If you haven't started in a month or so, then I would hit the doctor just to make sure.

At this point I would not worry too much.
Your period is regulated by horemonal balance.
If something causes an imbalance such as illness or various stresses, it could very well cause irregularity in menses, or your period.
Of course if this continues for an extended length of time you should see a gynocologist.
However, I have known some women to go as long as 4 to 6 months before starting back on their regular cycles.
Note though, if you have any abnormal discharge or pass any clots you should get in to see a doctor immediately.
