A reader, anonymous, writes (15 June 2010):

do you watch Hannah Montanna? Well, her character brother "jackson" is played by the actor "jason earles" he looks 16, literally, but he is actually 30 years old. He has an age deficiency. My advice to you is to contact Disney and get on a show, they like adults who look like kids, easier to work with. and if you don't wanna do that, at least you know you're not alone.

Hi, I have the same problem and so do many, many other people. There isn't much you can do about it, unfortunately. The only comfort for me is knowing that people who matter know my age. I think it is better not to complain about it, because people who don't have such problems don't understand you. They can't imagine what it feels like being treated like a teenager when you are an adult. They think it is a blessing, that you are lucky, just wait till you are 40 and you will be glad...blah, blah, blah. I'm sure you have heard that a million times.

A female reader, YouWish United States +, writes (14 June 2010):

YouWish agony auntOh geeze. Listen - it's all in your presentation and the way you dress. If you dress like a 28 year old and carry yourself with the confidence and poise of a 28 year old, there will be no issue of respect. If you're dressing like you've been studying all night for your freshman finals and you've pulled your hair up all fast and loose, that could be an issue.

Your fiance doesn't care, why should you? I think it's more a matter of self-respect at this point. YOU need to respect yourself and be confident, and it'll show.

Also, look at it this way. In 20 years, when you look younger for your age, you'll absolutely be the envy of everyone!
