A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey im 16 i have been talking to this guy online for a few months. To start with i didnt knw his age n he didnt know mine. I recently found out he's 31 he thought i was about 19 but now knows im 16.

We both like eachother but know it would be kinda impossible to have a relationship coz of the age difference. Im not stupid i know not to go meeting older guys off the internet n stuff. We tried to stop talking but that didnt work. We are both very honest without but i just dunno what to do.

We havent met yet, he wants to but im not so sure if its a good idea. I think it will just make things more complicated. advise plz

A female reader, sheilae United States +, writes (15 January 2008):

Please do not meet this man, it would be extremely dangerous. A 31 year old man has no business chatting with a 16 year old. I don't know what the laws are in England, but here in America it is against the law. I'm sorry but he maybe a predator. Think about it now that he knows your age he should have immediately ended the chat.

But he stills wants to me you RED FLAG!! Please make your parents aware of this as well.

Please don't meet with this guy. You don't know anything about him, and he may

be a bad person, no matter how nice he sounds on the Internet. I think you should talk to your parents about this -- probably you didn't want to hear me say this, but think about it!! They can help. . Or at least have your friends review the correspondence and give their opinion. You may need to back away from this man.

Ponungalungb agony auntThat's too big of an age difference at your age. You say you tried to stop talking. I'd try again. Once he found out your real age, he should have known better and should have backed off. Since he didn't, I'd say for you to end communications. He could be a deviant, or worse.

Good luck.
