hi

i'm a 15yr old girl and i hate my body. i know people say this a lot but i do. it's not that i'm fat it's the complete opposite. i am naturally slim. my mom was. i eat and eat and eat - like comfort food eating.. but were it goes is beyond me. i nevvvver wear a skirt because my legs are just too skinny (i hate that word) i would love to wear dresses and things but i really am slim. im about 5ft and i weigh just about 6stone. i don't know what to do about it. i always worry about the way i look. i even wear joggers and leggings under my school trousers to try and make my legs look fatter. i know its sad but i just want to look normal for a change.

any suggestions on how i can put on weight?

thanks in advance xxx

Btw eating comfort food doesn't help, like cake choclate etc, you need to double the amount of healthy food you eat and cut down the excersize. Also this is only ONLY because you are only fifteen so you haven't finished growing up vertically yet, so wehn you stop growing twall, you'll start to grow wide :)

don't worry about it. I'm 15 & I'm skinny too. but a couple years aqo I was REALLY skinny, like no butt or hips or boobs. I was just straiqht. I'm still skinny but I quess puberty took over because I'm curvy for a skinny qirl. I qot some booty now lol & boobs & hips. you should just accept and love who you are. I know there are quys out there that you think only like the ''thick'' qirls with biq butts & stuff. but that's qoinq away. quys DO like short petite qirls like us! you should celebtate your body sweetie! there's a lot of people who wish they could be our size! you need to have a qood look in the mirror and realize your body is a work of art because its NOT shaped like everyone elses. And when your done, put on your flyest outfit & strut your stuff qirl!

hope I helped:D

ArmyMedic agony auntSpeak to your doctor, about any kind of weight control. But there are protein shakes, available to help gain mass, but it has to be done in a controlled manner.

Danielepew agony auntWe all want to be liked by others and we think that people won't like us if we're not like everyone else. As we grow older and learn to feel happy with ourselves, we don't worry that much about it. Also, many people have the same "problem", until age and slower metabolism take over and they start putting on weight :-).

So, don't worry.

Miss Potter agony auntAbout putting on weight - don't do anything stupid - eat healthily, don't eat too much junk. Your metabolism is very quick therefore everything you eat gets processed straight away. By trying to change your body you will put it off balance, it most definitely will change your hormonal balance which isnt good. I had a friend who was very skinny so was her mother when she was young, but after she has kids she became normal.

Try changing your style instead - wear sarongs, throws, skirts that come to your knees and have several layers for volume...

A reader, anonymous, writes (1 March 2009):

You do look normal,if that's your natural body shape then that's normal. You're not able to gain weight because you have high metabolism which will slow down as you grow older.

You're better off not just eating loads of junk food to try and gain weight, you will gain the wrong kind of weight. Plus you will put youreslf under same kind of health risks that obese people have.

You can't really fight genetics on this one, but you can bulk up a bit, by eating a healthy diet and by playing sports regularly.

Go see your doctor or go to a nutritionist for professional advice on this one, there's a right way and wrong way to go about this, you won't be happy if you do it the wrong way, there are lots of negative effects to gaining weight when you're naturally skinny, things like huge stretch marks, back trouble, knee trouble etc.

Best to do this the healthy way, so the effects will be beneficial.
