Hey "Danialpew," thank you for some assist in clarification. In my case, I must still remain heterosexual and of masculine gender. lol

I found this definition of "agony aunt": "A woman who provides answers to readers letters in a publication's agony column". So we're agony uncles.

To the best of my recollection that is exactally what the guys here on Agony Aunt are referred to. The Uncles on this site usually do an equally great job as the Aunts have on most everything they all post. Welcome to Dear Cupid and rest assured that we will all try our best to provide the best advice that we possibly can. I am also an older Aunt, more like the Grandma of the crowd *LOL*. I'm a real live Southern Belle and I am not sure where the Agony Aunt concept originated from but I am pleased to say I found it over a year ago and have enjoyed meeting folks (virtually) and helping others.
It seems to me that Agony Aunt sort of came out easier to say than Agony Uncle but it's sure nice at any rate to have some of those nice, sweet, caring guys (MEN) around. It helps us all to keep a bit of even balance here. 8-)
My best to you and yours on this Holiday Season.
God bless,

Yes, I think that we are "Agony Uncles," some of whom are between girlfriends or wives and possibly have little else to do after work. But we try to help by imparting experience or male perspective. I'm Texan, but I gather that the "Agony Aunt" thing is some kind of British terminology or tradition. An ex-girlfriend encouraged me to become involved more than a year ago because I'm fairly old, and i've been around the block a few times.
