reader, anonymous, writes (22 March 2007): I dont think so at all. I have a lot of female friends. i love females and I enjoy their company. Im not gay but I enjoy a break away from the testosterone sometimes. I am in a very testosterone fuelled job and have martial arts as a hobby but I enjoy female company. They can be great company in many ways and its good to get a female perspective. GOne are the days of the playground when the girls played with the girls and the boys with the boys.

 Goodness NO, it doesn't automatically make a guy gay if he has mostly female friends. He might just connect better with them... or maybe those girls just really enjoy his company.
I wish there were a surefire way of knowing whether someone was gay or not, but there isn't. Unless, I suppose you go up to them and ask, but that seems a little invasive.
And also, it's kind of hard figuring out if someone has a crush on anyone else. Unless you get to know this guy and see how he interacts with his friends, there's no real way to be able to tell. Not without asking him!
Get to know him and maybe he'll open up to you. Then you'll have all the answers!
