writes: hey everyone! My dilemma isn't necessarily about a relationship, but i'm really confused. My summer has been very, very long... it's been 106 days since i got out of school, and i've been bored. My mom and dad are a little lazy; they think that just because i go somewhere with my friends on friday means that i shouldnt leave the house until the next week. i cant drive, so i dont have an option. i'm really angry because i've gained seven pounds from sitting and watching t.v all day. i dont have any sports until the winter, and it's been 100+ degrees every day! What can i do? Reply to this Question Share |

Sports are definitely a good way to pass the time, but it's understandable you don't want to do them during such hot weather. The simplest answer is a question: what else interests you besides sports? Learning something new is always an excellent way to pass the time. When you get into learning something that really excites you, it feels like there's not enough time in the world!
So think about it, and make a list of all the other things that interest you. Reach back into your past, from when you were a little kid. Maybe you had some hobbies or did some cool things once or twice that you'd like to do again. Don't worry if you're not SURE you'd like to do them again. If there's any spark of interest in your mind when the though occurs to you, write down the thought. Then you can assess your list and see what REALLY interests you. Pick two things to try this week.
If all else fails, you can learn a lot of things over the Internet. Youtube has a ton of instructional videos. You can find tons of tips, from how to apply makeup to yoga and Pilates moves to how to make origami creatures!
Another way of finding new things to do is checking what activities are available where you live. You can look in local newspapers or by doing searches on the Internet. You may find summer festivals or fairs, free music events, crafts shows, and things like that.
Good luck! Life is too short to be bored!

Go to a local pool, or if ur friend or neighbor has one. Work on ur tan and wear sunscreen! when the sun sets i usually play tennis at the local park, ride ur bike along trails or in the neighborhood, ask ur mom or dad to get u a movie from redbox. Got any board games at home? Ask ur rents to join u in Monopoly, Twister, Pictionary, Life, etc.
