Hi guys,

I'm sure everyone has been through something like this, so i'm hoping your experience can help me out here :)

Okay, so there's this girl who I quite like and she is having a birthday party soon. Quite a few of my friends are invited, but im not :( I really would like to go, but it's a bit weird if I just say to her "can I come to your party?".

I talk to her, but not lots - however I do talk to some of her friends quite often, so I was wondering if I could possibly ask them to try and get me in.

I just thought I would ask for some good advice before trying anything.

Thanks.

Your friend agony auntI think you want to go so you can hang out with your friends and have a good time which is fine but if she did not ask you then you were not on her list for some reason. I would leave it at that and see your friends the next day, after all its her party.

Just say to her, "so I heard you're having a party soon." And offer her help with things, she should invite you.

Don't go through her friends, it just seems weird.

Hiya, don't invite yourself because that would be very awkward for her! And she won't be happy if she feels uncomfortable at her own birthday party!

If you get on with her friends, maybe you could ask them to suggest asking the girl if she ought to invite you or not, that way she can decide, but you have a chance of going!

If you don't get into it, don't worry because I'm sure she'll have her reasons. maybe you could try talking to her more often and getting to know her?

Good luck

Well you were right not to ask her if you can go because that wouldnt have been right, as for asking your mates, make sure they are quite close ones that you speak to out of school. You could casually say, on the day of her birthday party,"what are you lot doing tonight then?" then if they say "going to ----'s party" which obviously they will, you could say "oh right, ive got nothing to do, don't suppose you want to bring me along?" And make sure you say the last bit in a jokey way :) Hopefully they will be ok with it, and make sure you or your mates check its ok with the girl first before you turn up, and bring a card!

Good luck, if the plan doesnt work out, dont worry too much, the party probably wont be as good as you think, and just concentrate on getting closer to her after that.
