I'm worried about sex. I'm not thinking about having it now, but I'm worried about the future. First of all, and most important, I've been seeing questions about the foreskin. I'm 13 and my foreskin does not come back over my penis when I have an erection, is this bad now, or might it get better?

Secondly, I don't know if my penis is large or not, so am embarrassed that I think its tiny because I think it is. I made a joke about a small tube being a condom and people said it was too small. But I think it may have fit mine! Some advice and wisdom here people?

Dude, you're 13! You only got into double figures 3 years ago...there's plenty of time for you to grow a whopper. And as for the foreskin thing, my boyfriend's penis doesn't come out of his either - he's 22, and a great size. Don't worry about it.

hey, as a girl i can tell u not to worry about th size of ur penis. remember its not th size its how u use it n sum girls can find a large penis uncomfortable. women have there most sensitive nerves in th first 3 inches of the virgina so a larger penis dus not necessarily enhance pleasure.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (1 August 2005):

I am 14 and when my penis is not erect I can pull the foreskin back but it does not come naturally back in erection.

There is no need to worry.

If you are worried about telling your parents you could also wait a while until you are older, say 17 where you wont need to tell your parents it can be strictly between you and the doctor.

There are ways to loosen up the foreskin yourself

Wash every day, using warm water just pull the foreskin back a bit and gently wash it when your penis becomes warm it becomes looser enabling the foreskin to peel back easier.

Also you are only 13 you have started puberty so the string attaching the foreskin to the head will grow and naturally weable full erection. I wouldn't think about surgery or doctor's just yet.

If you can talk to your parents about this matter (Which I can't) like I said you're under the age of sex and as long as it is not hurting you should be fine untill you're at that age

If you find it easier talking to friends do so

You can also call 0800 282930 - a fully confidential, free sex help line which you could call in a phonebox to keep your problems secret.

Good luck and don't worry until you're 16. Your problem does not stop masturbation or erections at the moment so don't worry until you find a person where you need to sort it out

So allow yourself to pube and grow

GOOD LUCK :p

Most boys worry about the size of their dick, but everyone sees it's not the size that matters; it's how you use it. Remember that.

Hey bro, don't worry, I thought mine was small and then when I got with my current girlfriend I gave her about 8 to 10 orgasms in a row. No that's not exaggerating, on top of that even if it is small who cares? There is someone that will like you for who you are, and if they don't, then screw em.

Please Read:

Very Small = Under 5 "

Small = 5"- 6"

Average = 6"- 7"

Large = 7"- 8"

Very Large = 8" - 9"

Most "men" are around 5.7" to 6" erect as found by a survey, and this is for "men" and not 13yr old boys...so if yours is a little smaller then not to worry. Bev is right, you may have even started puberty a long while back but this normally 16-18 when they grow the most, this varies with the person of course and it's likely to keep growing at a small rate as you grow older, when you get to old age most men lose 1/2 inch.

The law to have sex as you know is 16, if you're worried this is an excuse for you not to be embarrassed in front of a girl (and your mates if it got around the school). I assure you that it will grow bigger but will just take time, so you might as well wait til you're 16 when it be a lot bigger and don't think everyone has had it and not you ...a lot of people lie and there is no reason why you can't if need to.

You can always get pumps and natural pills (with herbs etc. in) that can work wonders if you still worried about it. Also, being a porn fan and masturbating believe it or not can help it grow as when you have an erection its the blood that makes the penis erect and even though it's sometimes described as a "boner" your penis doesnt actually have a bone in it and its the increase in blood pressure which makes it erect and it's more likely to grown/stretch if you get erect often.

A reader, anonymous, writes (1 May 2005):

Well, I have already sent in a question about the fact that my foreskin does not reveal the head of my penis when I pull it back. It reveals part of the actaual penis, but only the hole and it stings to try and pull it back further. My penis is also tender when I touch it, once the foreskin reveals some of it.

My main problem is how to approach my mum and dad about this. I'm 13 and worried whether I need a circumcision. How do I tell them. And does circumcision make it hurt when you urinate (a rumour I've heard)?

A reader, anonymous, writes (1 May 2005):

Why oh why do males worry about the size of their penis? When will they realise that women are more interested in the the things they do, not the size of their anatomy!

If someone wants you they will want you because of who you are. I personally look at eyes, chest, and arms. If you ask most women -although they will joke about the size of a man's penis, this really doesn't matter - in fact from my experience it is the last thing on the list! But males seem to see it as the most important thing, that's why we women make a joke about it!

Find the right women and you won't even think about it, she'll make you feel so wonderful that you just won't care, be loving and caring - that's what a woman really wants!

lil-haz agony auntYou're still growing and going through the growth stage. Of course your penis is not going to be full size by now; you're only just qualified to be a teenager, so don't go and worry about that just now. I don't think a girl is going to like you for the size of your penis and don't be ashamed, girls should like you for who you are, so chill mate! :)

A female reader, Bev Conolly Australia +, writes (28 April 2005):

Bev Conolly agony auntWhen it comes to penis concerns from young men, there are two words I will always employ: Don't Worry!

As long as you can retract your foreskin yourself (you should be doing this and washing there every time you have a shower, for hygiene purposes), then you don't have to worry that it still covers the end of your penis when you have an erection. At your age, most penises are still boy-size; when it gets larger and you get erections, the foreskin will come back naturally. The only thing that might be a concern is if you can't pull it back with your fingers; this happens occasionally and it's something you need to visit your GP about. But it's not terribly serious, either.

As to your worry that it's small - well, yes, it probably is. Now. But at 13, you've only just hit puberty. Give yourself a chance!

Grab a few books on male adolescence at the library and check the illustrations. It will put your mind at ease to see that other boys/young men have worried needlessly in their early teens, too. While some boys' penises start to grow at 13, a lot more don't really get going until 14 or 15 or even 16. Everyone's situation is different, but time is the great leveller and yours will end up pretty average... on average.

This is a good website to get you started:

Don't worry! :)
