I'm really shy and I've noticed when I think about stuff I did in the past like going out to get some food I can only see myself like there is a video of me and I'm watching it. It's just weird at least that's what I think.

I think it's perfectly normal. Just now, I've tried to remember something I did recently (ride my bicycle, buy a bottle of tequila) and I find I can visualise the purchase of the tequila bottle from 1st person (through my eyes) or from 3rd person (looking down on myself) since the trip to the store, and the store is very familiar to me. However, my bike ride was through unfamiliar streets so I remember it better from a 1st person perspective (through my eyes).
I think it depends on how familiar you were with your surroundings, and how specific (or shocking, scary etc) the event was.

I think that is just how your memories are formed and stored. This is the first time I have heard of it just being memories, there are cases where you see yourself from the third person as things are actually happening. Its perfectly normal, I think it is very unique and you are lucky to be able to veiw things from that perspective. It may come to help you realize so much about past events that you never noticed when you were in them but the details were still stored in your memory.
