Hi guys,

this isnt a relationship question as such but i need to vent off.

I've been at my current job for 5 months now and on Wednesday it was my birthday. I bought in cakes and savoury snacks as you do. Well...2 things pissed me off...

The 1st being that i didnt get a present or even a card from my colleagues-im so annoyed because i have always put in to their collection and helped decorate their desk..they did nothing for me!! They knew it was my birthday because thy kept on telling me its tradition to bring in lots of food!

The 2nd thing was that i put the cakes out and the sausage rolls and cocktail sausages. I was called in to another dept and must have been gone approx 40 min when i got back all the food had gone!! They had saved nothing for me!!!

I was hoping that i might get a card either thurs or fri..but still nothing and our office is in the centre of town!!!

Do i say anything to them or am i just exaggerating??

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! That was mean and inconsiderate of them! How awful for you! I don't really have any additional advice for you...just learn from this. As others have said, now you know where you stand with these people! I hope your birthday outside of work went better then at the office!

Hugs and Birthday Greetings!

Happy Birthday! It is typical of office workplaces, we act like pigs in the US when someone brings "free food".

As far as not getting you a card, that takes one person to take ownership and get the card and have everyone sign it, apparantly the person who typically takes care of it was off that day or out of the loop on your birthday. Don't take it personal, remember they are work colleagues and not your real friends.

I hope you have a nice birthday work......and next time remember to save back some food for yourself!

DrPsych agony auntYour work colleagues are ignorant pigs...there I said it! Next year, lace the sausage rolls with laxatives (only joking, you don't want a public health crisis on your birthday).

wonderingcat agony auntGuess maybe your friends in the office forgot to have breakfast that morning. Not nice though, not leaving you the crumbs either :-(

A Belated Happy Birthday!

[You just got a big hug from me too!]

Blessing in disguise? Now you know who your good friends [or not] in your office are.
