writes:I have a lovely husband of 13 years. I was a virgin when I married him. When he gets angry he often calls me a slut. Can you tell me why he does this? Is he just using the worst word to annoy me as this term is the complete opposite of what I am? Or could there be something from his past which makes him use this word?  Hm I don't know but have you ever called someone a bastard? Were they actually a bastard? I think when we're angry we just pick on any word to try and hurt the other person, no matter if it's true or not.

From Middle English slutte "slovenly, dirty", it is used as an insult.
The word is offensive and he shouldn't use it.

If he'a angry he might simply be trying to demean you and erode at your sense of self-worth. Try to discuss the issue with him, informing him that it hursts your feelings and try to find out why he does it and how he can stop.
It's the small things that can ruin a marriage so its best to deal with all issues as they come instead of letting them fester.
Talk it out and you may find that the reason is a simple one...or not:)

 eve is right he is the only one with answers, if you are playing and he calls you that we will assume it turns him on but when he is angry is an insult, i think it doesnt matter whether you are a complete opposite of slut or not the word is just not blissful, so talk to him.

 I suggest you simply ask him the next time you are both in a good mood. Ask him in bed when you are cuddled up together. Maybe he would like you to act out being a slut, maybe it's a power exchange or maybe it's just a word he hates and it comes out when he gets angry. Everyone else can only assume. Get the answer from the horses mouth. I'm sure he'll tell you if you ask him at the right time.
