writes: ok, so i have this friend who I've liked for years. he's really cute, and i can talk to him about anything, but the problem is that i think he sees me as one of the guys. we met back when we were kids in karate class and he's now my training partner. we train and compete together and he always picks me to practice with. we're always competing against each other as well. i have no fear to spar with him but trying to ask him out is something i can't seem to do. i want to tell him how i feel but i don't want to loose him as my partner. i'm not like all the girls he dates either, they're all really petite and cute but i'm a thicker girl (not fat, or overly muscled just bigger build) and i don't think of myself as girly either. should i just give up on him and keep him as a friend? i would really love some good advice on this one.

reader, anonymous, writes (11 May 2012): Hey, You seem to really like this guy, if I were in your shoes I would suggest going out for dinner and seeing how it goes from there. That would not ruin your friendship at all. I would definitely not just blurt out all your feelings for him, subtle hints are the way to go with this one. Good luck!! xx
