Contact "connexions", the government youth service. The telephone number should be available at school, or contact your local council. They know everything about what is available for young teenagers like you. They will help you with advice on work, study, housing and benefits until you reach the age of 25years old.

Depends on where you live.. average rooms (that's a small room with a single bed) costs about £65 per week in London... Then you have to think about your travel fares (£40) and breakfast, lunch and dinner (£40), telephone and mobile costs, internet, books, toilet paper, woman's things...
In London, you probably need about £200 per week each to live independently. You'll be living a very poor life, there's no money for makeup, cinema, music, clothes, going out or any luxuries.
At 17, you can legally get a job after school and at the week end. Try to bring more money in. Also you'll need a months deposit, (£260)... You and your friend should start saving first, once you have enough cash, about £500 each, then get prices about rooms in your area. Best to wait until your 18, because then your an adult and can live wherever you want to, and you'll have enough money saved by then.
People on benefits get about £40 a week, but they also get some of their housing costs paid. You can't claim benefits if you are studying, but once you are at college, you might be able to get a students loan.
Start saving, get a part time job, draw up a budget, then go talk to your parents with your friend. If they see you are serious, I'm sure they might be encouraged to try to help you move.
