 I'm in the same situation as you. If you decide to meet him, bring a parent with you. True the person you are meeting may not be a paedophile, but there is a chance he is.
I met my boyfriend online, and we met in person, everything was fine, and we are in a good, strong relationship now.
Just inform your parents you want to meet him, and ask your mum or dad to come with you.

 How long have you known him? Have you seen pictures of each other? I know everyone is tired of the "be careful about him!" sayings, but it's true.. make sure you trust him completely before meeting (and meet in a public place!) and don't go if you are uncomfortable with it.
