Hey i wonder if you can give me some advice. I have been wanting to lose weight for some time now, i am 23, 5'6" and weight 11 1/2 stone. I have never had a problem with my weight before, until i met my partner got comfortable and had our beautiful son, who weighed 10 pound! i weighed 9 stone in 2001 and would like to get back down to that, i do think myself lucky that after having a child of my sons size, i am still only really 2 stone above what i was but it is making me miserable, clothes dont look as good on me and i just feel unfit. I have never wanted to be stick thin, i was a size 8 to 10 for years and i was very happy being that size. I just wonder if you can give me some tips on how to stay motivated? ive started doing aerobics 4 times a week for an hour and have also tried cutting my fod intake down but it seems like from one week to the next i either feel really motivated to do it or really cant be bothered! i have wanted to lose weight for a while and have decided enough is enough but need some advice as to how to stay on track??? i would really really like to lose 2 stone by the end of december, if thats atall possible but i can understand if it isnt, can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so, how to achieve it without falling off the wagon??? thanks for your time vikki

Joining a group is great as you feel motivated from that and there is extra peer pressure when you have to go and admit you've eaten cake all week.

Also try and change the way you eat. Only eat it sitting down, and take a sip of water between every mouthful. This means you eat slower and feel full faster.

My friend used the "Beck Diet Solution" it's an American book but you should be able to find it online, she swears by it. It's full of tips like the 2 I just gave you.

Get a photo of you looking gorgeous and thin and stick it to the fridge or the biscuit tin or where ever you get your naughty nibbles from.

2 stone in nearly 4 months is very possible but you have to start doing bits of exercise around the house and stop buying junkfood. It'll do your hubbie good too.

Good Luck!! xx

TELLULAH agony auntJoin weight watchers, or another group. It will help you with what you are eating and also going there every week will help to not fall of the wagon. Keep up the gym as well and it will easily fall off.

hlskitten agony auntNot sure how to stop falling off the wagon, i have weeks where i am at the gym, the next week i struggle to get there and missed 2 weeks on the trot a while ago.

Ive lost 9lb in 6 weeks since joining the gym though, and that was after having the 2 weeks off! But i cut down to 1200 calories a day, no more, but didn't care too much where those calories came from. And i still go out drinking at weekends. I am only 5'3 and am still about 10 and a bit stone! I was 11 stone 1 when i joined the gym so they told me anyway. And its only a curves gym, not a weight training gym. But i was 9.4 stone when i fell pregnant with my 13 yr old, but have been down to nearly 9 stone since (about 4 yrs ago)

I tell you another good site on line that will tell you how many calories you need to eat to lose what weight you want, its free and its called sparkpeople .com
