I read that the answer according to a recent survey of sex therapists is 3 to 7 minutes, and very few people have actual intercourse for more than 12 minutes. But, I read posts on this website and others about people having intercourse for hours. But, what is best for you in a typical situation? In other words, not your personal record for the longest you've ever experienced, but what's best for a really good encounter? Also, how long should foreplay last, starting from the first kisses, touches, etc. until the start of intercourse?I realize everyone is different, but I'm trying to get some idea of what is typically best for women.

When me and my boyfriend started having sex it took around 3 to 4 hours from very beginning ( foreplay etc), to very end. After a few months it went down to an hour, but it didn't get any less exciting. We just learned more about each other's bodies and what we liked and so it didn't take as long to satisfy each other. The key thing is that you listen to your partner and get what they like.

Some women want hours of foreplay with less than a minute of penetration. Other women only like oral sex. Other women like men to last for hours. It really really varies from person to person.

There is no typical. It ALL depends on the person. What you need to do is learn your partner. That's what matters.
