While I agree that the age gap is bigger than it seems on paper, it's not a deal breaker because everybody is different. I have a friend who married an 18 year old when he was 32. We made a ton of jokes at his expense, but the truth is, he and his wife are very happy together and 5 years later, still very in love.
What you need to first know, is whether or not it's legal to "be together". If it's not, wait until you're 18. If it is, find something that you'd like to do with him (not a movie, no way to get to know each other) and ask him if he'd like to go with you. If he says no, don't be offended or hurt; its not personal!
