I know I'll get all sorts of replies saying don't go there, but here's hoping I'll also get some advise I can use. My wife and I have a good marrage but I have always wondered about her sexual past, I don't want details, names or anything like that but I would like to know how many guys she has been with. I know of 7 for sure and she first had sex at age 16 or 17. That brings up another question to the ladies: is that about normal. Does anyone know of a purity test I could send here where I get a copy of the answers?

reader, anonymous, writes (5 February 2006): I notice a lot of the people pushing the "everyones got a past" bit are the ones who themselves have a past.
Believe it or not there are a lot of people who don't have skeletons in their closets although those that do, I'm sure would love to believe they're not alone.
That said I'm not saying your wife is this type.
Its natural to want to know what you want to know as a guy and I don't know any guy who doesn't wonder about what kind of woman his girl was before being with him. Its something very important from the male perspective and is something women just won't get, sort of the same as how women tend to value men for status or wealth/ambition while for guys this doesn't really register too highly on the list of important qualities.
Anyways if you're wondering about whats normal I think you're gonna get a wide variety of answers. 7 sounds about normal I'd say depending on age, but at the end of the day all thats gonna matter is whether or not YOU can handle the number 7.
If it seems like you can, then you shouldn't worry if everyone who answered here said 4 was normal.
If you can't then it shouldn't matter if they say 50.
Anyways I understand where you're coming from though and hope you find your peace.

 Does it really matter how many fellas she has had? Your wife fell in love with you and she married you...those guys mean nothing to her now.I would say that 7 guys was average so i wouldnt worry.Has it always bothered you? You must of had girlfriends before you met your wife...thats only natural....i wouldnt let it spoil your relationship.Everyone has a past and i would be very surprised if every single woman married the 1st man they had sex with.Just enjoy your wife and keep her ex boyfriends in the past.
