I want to get liposuction to remove the extra fat on my thighs/bottom for a nicer proportion. Dieting only causes me to slim down on top which is not what I need. I do exercise but it doesn't do much for my thighs, plus I do not want to bulk up. However, I don't know where to start. I was hoping to get advice from those who have had lipo or know people who have had it. Any pros and cons? I'm not overweight but would like to look nicer with a proportionate figure. Thank you.

Actually to the last OP I beg to differ.. .I have regained a bit of weight after lipo with my tummy tuck and I gain it in very different places now... still fat but not my belly.. now it goes to my hips and thighs which have not had the fat cells removed by liposuction.

YOu should get used to it now. Instead of having spent a lot of money feeling good for 3 months and then after bein disappointed

Find a reputable plastic surgeon and have a consult. They will explain to you if you are a candidate or not. DO NOT go to a quickie fix place. DO NOT use anyone who is not BOARD CERTIFIED in PLASTIC SURGERY...
I have had plastic surgery.. I had a tummy tuck, a breast lift and massive liposuction in my abdominal area. I'm putting off the second stage which is hips thighs butt and back because it's so much more painful than the other surgeries and yet I can tell you that the tummy tuck was the most painful thing I've ever had done. Even now two years out I still have residual pain from the surgery sometimes. I had no choice but to have these surgeries they were reconstructive vs cosmetic.
What you want is cosmetic and therefore will not be covered by insurance at all. I would plan about 4k for the procedure, the care afterwards etc. All has to be paid up front as well.
to be honest it may make you feel a bit better when all is said and done but you need to exercise and eat well and take care of yourself.

Next to a petite woman, I look like a different species, and my hips look almost obscene (and I'm a marathon runner). Liposuction won't fix your problems. I understand the desire and emotion, because I hated this body for so long. Listen to your body. Love your body. Understand that you are more than your body. You'll only get to your healthiest ideal when you stop thinking of your body as your enemy, and think of it as an ally. And beautiful. Getting a man who adores you and your body...maybe even *despite* some flaws...definitely drives these points home. I guess I look at it like this: Wouldn't you rather be imperfect and fully YOU, rather than what you think is "perfect" now? Just don't do it, please. Strut that shit. Learn to work it! And whatever you do, don't wear skinny jeans. (I know this isn't what you asked, but just thought another super-pear-shaped perspective might help.)

It's not that complicated. You find a reputable surgeon and explain what you want in the consultation. You schedule an appointment and have the surgery. Recovery time would be a month or two. Your thighs will be swollen at first but then your newer, slimmer thighs will reveal in time. Some people worry they will gain the fat back when they get older. You are born with certain amount of fat cells, and they swell and shrink depending if you are eating, drinking too much or dieting. In liposuction they get rid of some fat cells. So even if you gain weight later the form is still there. I don't recommend breast augmentation but liposuction is worth it. Find an experienced surgeon. There are no long term consequences in liposuction, unlike putting foreign substance in your body.
You will have to be firm about your decision because in the hospital you will feel your body is violated while unconscious. This is survival instinct. You have to do it for yourself, not for your parents, friends, or boyfriends. It helps if your mental and emotional state is strong enough to begin with.

Instead of answering your question on where to get liposuction, I would like to tell you something about the modern world.
People nowadays are so focussed on being perfect, wich is (in their eyes) the same as being skinny. The beauty ideal is so far-fetched and unreachable, due to unrealistic commercials on tv and clothes being showed on overly skinny models. Why do you want to be like that? Why do you want to change yourself only to "look nicer"? Research shows that 80% of women who have had liposuction or other plastic surgery, consider suicide more often than women who haven't done any of that. Plastic surgery will only make you feel worse about yourself, it causes you to think that you're ugly the way you naturally are. You yourself say that you are not overweight, then why on earth would you want to do such a drastic surgery on your body? Have you even considered the many physical and mental consequences liposuction brings? Have you even informed about the amount of time this sort of surgery goes wrong? I could go on and on about this forever, but a long story short:
You're manipulating yourself by wanting to pursue the image of "true beauty". If you really want to be skinnier or lose weight, then don't quit dieting and exercising. It takes a while for the human body to show changes and it also takes a while for the human brain to recognise these changes. You can not just stupidly decide to have liposuction.
Think about it very well, and ask yourself if it will really make you that much happier. Will it make you a better person if your thighs are smaller? Will being someone you're not, make you proud?
Good luck!
