My families heritage was a big part of our family and in my grandmotherdying i feel I have lost a bit of that. Any ideas where I could get it tattood? Someone said on the nape of my neck, but I have very short hair so its not as if i can hide it easily. i want to put it somewhere discreet - where it can be on show if I want, but can be hidden away when need be.

Please don't mar that beautiful body that the Lord gave you. I'm sure it scandalize your grandmother. And trust me when you get to be my age "vil god i zal" might start looking like "godzilla" or something, what with all the wrinkles and sags one gets.

Get it tattooed around your ankle or your hip... that way it is easily covered up.
I do agree with the other Aunts and Uncles, while I think your idea is a sweet, great idea, I do suggest waiting for a little while to make sure you really want to permanently tag yourself!
I'm sorry for your loss, my dear.

You could as an alternative have some jewellery (a tag or similar on a chain or bracelet) engraved with this motto and the nice thing about that is you could pass it down the family line as a kind of heirloom in honour of your gran.

I'd suggest you wait 12 or 18 months and then decide if you still want it done. Better still, get a photo of your gran and put it on a shelf where YOU will be able to see it and remember her in your mind, rather than doing something you may regret later in life.
My son's wife died of cancer when she was only 40. He immediately had a large tatto done on his upper back of an image of his wife with an angel's wings which went from one shoulder blade to the other. Nice thought at the time but he's since married again, and not surprisingly is now having it covered at great expense. Something approaching £1000 due to the sheer size of it.
Think twice is all I can say.
