You're at different stages in life. Just because you are attracted doesn't mean it's a good idea to get together with the person.

 developing feelings for someone who is older than you is perfectly normal but im guessing your parents just want to protect you whatever happens i wouldnt keep this from your parents how ever much they dont like it atleast theyl no your being honest with them and they will know where you are if you are out with him or whatever.
