 Jst be yourself , believe me most girls like it when your being yourself and not pretending to be someone else maybe invite her to the cinema jst you and her and see how it goes maybe put your hand round her and make her feel comfortable and then ask her ... hope everything goes well x

theres nothing more a woman/girl likes than a guy being relaxed and confortable around them.
Dont try too hard, perhaps take her to her favourite restaurant, take her for a picnic at the park or beach.
Think of things that she loves/likes. Incorporate them if you can.
get her some flowers...
the main thing is not how much you spend but how much thought you put into it.
that will wow the socks off her!

 Why not ask her out for a milkshake/coke/coffee whatever it is you drink in America. It is hard trying establish a "more than friends" relationship with a girl who you are close friends with.
Maybe when you go to the movies next you could take hold of her hand, or place your arm round her shoulder?! I love when my partner does that during a movie.
