Lately, I'll send him a simple "good morning" or "how was your day" text message and he responds "get out of my head". He goes out with friends, tells me about the good time later, and adds that it would've been more fun if I were present. "Larry" surprised me for my birthday with lots of balloons, then another gift the next day with a card attached, that said "1 day isn't enough to celebrate your birthday". I checked an email account and he had sent an e-card and wrote that by being his friend, I made him a better man. He includes my family in regular conversation, although, due to military obligations, he has never met any of them. Rarely does Larry call me by my real name, he simply calls me "beautiful".Am I reading too far into his words/actions or is it possible that he may be looking for more than a friendship in the future?

He likes you and he wants more. There is no doubt about it. NO doubt what-so-ever. It sounds like the next step is yours to make.... either reciprocate his feelings or not. Just be honest.

I think he does like you. A lot. But the only way to be sure is to talk to him. So you have to be brave and talk to him.
